Rent The Runway – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

I personally have loved rent the runway, and I am FLOORED to see so many negative reviews. It is a great concept, and I have saved so much money on clothes using it. It just makes sense if you have a lot of events to go to and don’t want to buy new dresses or nice clothes that you likely wont wear too often. Plus, you get to try higher end brands that you might not normally buy! I have never had issues with quality or smelly clothing or timely shipping. Customer service has been great if I I had an issue. I found several pieces that I fell in love with, and even bought one product at a reduced price. There have been a couple times where the products didn’t fit me right, but it kind of comes with the territory when purchasing online. Just read the reviews before you chose your pieces.

The system seems to be nice for now. I only tried to rent one dress for once after a recommendation by a friend. The dress arrived very clean. Can be used for special occasions.

The original mother of the bride dress I chose was not worn. Honestly it seems like it had been worn too many times and drycleaned as it was tight. A skinnier me would have looked great in it. The backup dress was perfect. I NEVER have received so many compliments! The shipping back of both dresses was a b r e e z e! RtR supplies a nice little bag and we dropped it off at Walgrens.

I have used Rent the Runway for over 6 years now, renting dresses individually for special events. I have a few experiences to share: 1. I rented a gown for a Gala in NYC in 2014 I was working at, and the zipper on the dress I rented broke on the night-of. I was trapped in the bathroom at The Waldorf Astoria with an incredibly kind cleaning lady helping me safety pin the dress together. Luckily, I was able to make it work for the evening. I called RTR the day after and they refunded my the dress entirely (and I think they gave me a credit to try another dress) I rented again for the same gala the next year and had zero problems. 2. I went into the DC RTR brick and mortar store to pick a dress out for a wedding I was attending in Florida in 2018. The experience was wonderful - super friendly ladies in the store who helped me find the perfect dress. No complaints, very easy. 3. I rented a dress for a black tie wedding in Philadelphia in 2019. The day before my event, the dress was shipped to the wrong location, and somehow got to a postal office over an hour away from where I was staying and I didn't have a car. Luckily I had brought a back-up dress with me, and I wore that. I called RTR and explained my situation. As it turns out, it was my fault for not including a "SW" on the address I included, but nobody contacted me when the dress couldn't be delivered successfully so I wasn't informed of where it was. I called RTR and they apologized, and refunded me fully. If you want to use Rent the Runway, you need to ALWAYS have a backup dress with you, as it's not a flawless service and dresses might not fit you / might get lost in shipping etc. However, it's as close to excellent as it can be for a dress rental company dealing with such a high volume of renters, dresses and shipping issues + it's not RTRs fault if a customer orders a size 4 in a dress and it's too big or small for them - designers don't adhere to any strict sizing parameters and RTR tries to mitigate that by letting you order a back up size for free. My customer service experiences have been top-notch and I will continue using RTR.
